ax-road – your comprehensive solution

ax-road is a comprehensive solution that integrates functions such as live display of driving and rest periods, remote downloads, HVC (LSVA) III (Performance-Related Heavy Vehicle Charge), GPS tracking and automatic trailer detection. In collaboration with our partner Mobatime, we offer comprehensive expertise for all your questions and concerns.

As a Swiss company, we support you personally on your journey in the transport industry.

Functions and advantages of HVC III with ax-road

The relevant data for HVC III billing is collected by our standard GPS trackers and automatically transmitted to the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (FOCBS) on a regular basis. In addition, the coupled trailer is automatically detected, and its trailer load is also transmitted without any interaction from the driver. This is something new in this area!

Tracking with trailer detection

With real-time GPS tracking, you can keep an eye on the location of your vehicles at all times. Automatic trailer recognition assigns trailers without manual effort, while freight monitoring controls temperature and humidity. All data relating to vehicles, trailers and freight can be viewed centrally. Maintenance management and live data for electric lorries, such as consumption and battery status, optimise fleet management.

How integrating
digital tachographs
makes your life easier

Live transmission of ARV values

Our solution transmits all current values to our platform; on request, we can also send them directly to the dispatching software you use via API. The dispatch department receives all relevant data, such as the remaining driving time and the duration of rest periods, clearly displayed and can therefore respond ad hoc to incoming requests without violating working time regulations.

Automated transmission of ARV files
Files are automatically read from your digital tachograph on a regular basis and made available for remote download in ax-track. This spares you the time-consuming task of reading driver cards and lorries on site.

Q&A HVC III

Is HVC III billing via ax-road free of charge?
Yes, billing is included in the monthly device costs.
What are the advantages of having HVC III billing handled via ax-road?

With the official device, only location data and manually selected trailers are transmitted to the FOCBS. This data cannot be used on other platforms.

With our solution, the collected data is also integrated into ax-road, and the driver does not have to select the trailer manually. This minimises the error rate and prevents unnecessary fines.

Use of our standard trackers allows all ARV and HVC III data to be transmitted digitally and viewed live.

Is converting your fleet to HVC III time-consuming?
Since modifications to lorries are in any case necessary for HVC III, the conversion is necessary anyway. If our trackers are already in use, no conversion is necessary for HVC III.
What will change with HVC III or HVC 3?
The existing system for levying the Performance-Related Heavy Vehicle Charge (HVC II) will be replaced by the new system (HVC III) by the end of 2025. New lorries registered from 1st January 2025 must be equipped with HVC 3. The current Emotach system will remain active for existing lorries until 31st December 2025, after which all lorries must be equipped with HVC (LSVA) 3.
